When the grinding wheel is grinding on the circumference


Generally in the case of horizontal axis surface grinder. When grinding a flat surface with the circumferential surface of the grinding wheel, the contact surface between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is very small, the cooling and chip removal conditions during grinding are good, and the grinding force and grinding heat generated are also small. Therefore, it is conducive to improving the grinding accuracy of the workpiece. This grinding method is suitable for various plane parts with high precision. Generally, the flatness tolerance of 0.01/100 ~ 0.02/100mm can be achieved. The surface roughness Ra can reach 1.25 ~ 0.020 μ M. However, the production efficiency is low because the grinding of the whole working surface needs to be completed by intermittent horizontal feeding.


When grinding the end face


Generally in the case of vertical shaft surface grinder. When the cylindrical grinding wheel is used for end grinding, it mainly bears axial force, so the bending deformation is small, the rigidity is good, and the grinding time is larger. In addition, when the cylindrical grinding wheel is used to grind the end surface, the contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is large, and at the same time, there are many abrasive grains involved in grinding, so the production efficiency is high. However, the heat generated in the grinding process is large, the cutting fluid is not easy to directly pour into the grinding area of the track, and it is also difficult to remove chips. Thus, the workpiece is prone to thermal deformation and burn.


End grinding


Generally in the case of double end grinder. When the cylindrical grinding wheel is used for end grinding, the main shaft of the grinding wheel mainly bears axial force, so the bending deformation is small and the rigidity is good. A large grinding amount is selected for the grinding time. In addition, when the cylindrical grinding wheel is used for end grinding, the contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is large, and at the same time, there are many abrasive grains, so the production efficiency is high. In the single grinding process, the heat generation is large, the cutting fluid is not easy to be directly poured into the grinding area, and the chip removal is also difficult. Thus, the workpiece is prone to thermal deformation and burn.
